About DJ

Derrick Johnson “DJ” is from Jefferson City, MO. He attended the University of Missouri at Columbia and has a degree in Finance. Currently he lives in South Kansas City, Missouri where he lives with his wife, Jenifer, and his son, Antonio.

DJ has over 10 years experience in the paint profession. He was introduced to painting after he was laid off by Sprint in July 2004. Originally painting started out as a temporary job, working with some golf buddies who were painters and handymen, however, it quickly turned into something he could do with passion and purpose.

Derrick established DJ’s ASAP PAINTING in March 2007. He established the company with the intent to increase his knowledge and experience in home improvement and remodeling. While working in the paint profession Derrick recognized that there is a real need for professional, reliable contractors who could be trusted.
